Topic: “Accepted Offers vs. Asking Price” - We examine the percentage of closed transactions that accepted a contract above, below, or at the seller’s asking price.  

Data Covers: Closed transactions for July 2023 with month-over-month and year-of-year comparisons.

Key Observations:

·         The percentage of sellers accepting an offer above their asking price continues to trend lower with the inverse also true, as the percentage of sellers accepting offers below their asking price is on the rise.  

·         For additional comparison, in one of our hottest months on record, May 2021, 72.2 percent of sellers received above the asking price, 14.7 at the asking price, and 13.1 percent below the asking price.
